Glitter And Sparkle 1

Hello and welcome to my blog! I am a guest designer again this month for Christmas Craft Creations. By joining in on their challenge, you can win prizes and will see a lot of great card design inspiration.  Today, I reproduced a card from Honey Bee Stamps. I made a few changes and love the results. Here's how I made it: I started with a piece of Neenah Classic Crest Cover Solar White 80lb cardstock. It is super smooth and so easy to ink blend on. Using Honey Bee's Tall Pines Layering Stencils, I brushed on shades of blues in Distress Oxides. I love Honey Bee's stencils because they are clear and have etched images to easily line things up. Finished panel. I used Stormy Sky, Prize Ribbon, Uncharted Mariner, and Chipped Sapphire Distress Oxides. These blues are non-traditional tree colors, but give the scene a cool, dark look. I wanted this to be a night scene. I used Dr Ph. Martin's Bleedproof white paint to create splatter

Hello, and welcome to my blog! I made this cute penguin card for Christmas Craft Creations. This month's theme is Hats On. I love the warm hats that these penguins are wearing. I'll walk you step-by-step through this card. I started with Lawn Fawn's Here We Go A-Waddling stamp set. I stamped out the trio of carolers, the guitar player, and the lamppost. I colored the images with Copic markers: C9, C6, C3, C2, BG09, BG18, RV69, R29, R20, V17, V15, G46, G28, Y26, YR24, E59, E39, B000, Y17, Y15, and YR 18. I cut two snow banks out of Neenah Classic Crest Cover Solar White 80lb cardstock with Lawn Fawn's Stitched Hillside Borders. I then used Stormy Sky and Tumbled Glass Distress Oxides to ink the edges of the banks. Pro tip: use a light color, e.g. blue or grey, to line the edges of a white image to give it more depth. I took an A2 panel in landscape position and inked the top 3/4 with Hickory Smoke Distress Oxide. Then, using the new Ra

Welcome to my blog! I'm  back today as a guest designer for Christmas Craft Creations.  Christmas may be over, but not for me. I create Christmas cards all year. I love Christmas and also don't want to feel rushed at the end of the year to finish my cards. I adore this holiday lantern card. I played around with adding snow to my project. It adds a lot of texture and interest. I started by stamping images from Honey Bee Stamps' Pine & Berry Centerpiece stamp set onto Neenah Classic Crest Solar White cardstock. Since I was using Copics, I used Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  I used cool grays and Black for the lantern, warm grays for the candles, yellow greens for the holly, and greens for the pine sprigs. My go to reds for berries are R59, R29, R35, and R32. Pro Tip: with foliage, use different colors for different types of greenery to get a more organic look. I added "frost" to the candles by using sparkle embossing p

This is my first blog post as a guest designer for Christmas Craft Creations. If you're new to my blog, welcome! I love Christmas; it is my favorite season. I create Christmas cards all year long so I'm not stressed at the end of the year. I created this card to show you can stretch your products by using a non-holiday focal point and dressing it up.  This swan is from Spellbinders' Heart Swans die set. I colored him with the following Copics: B000, YR18, and C07. I added the tophat and scarf from Lawn Fawn's Making Frosty Friends  I did "surgery" on the scarf to fit the swan's thin neck. I used R29, R35, C07, and C06.  Pro tip: add a few highlights with a white gel pen to increase the appearance of depth on your projects. This wreath adds a Christmas feel to the card. It's from Spellbinders' Holly Berry Wreath die set. I cut the wreath out of white cardstock and colored as follows: Ivy and Holly-G07, YG17, G28 Berries-R29, R35
