Music Box

I made this adorable music box for my granddaughter. I used dies by Pixi Dust Designs for this. All the dies needed are included in two packs, labeled "A" and "B". I will walk you through creating this this step-by-step.  "A" plates are for the base and it's decorations.  The dies leave score lines for easy assembly. I cut the main box from blue, decorative panels from white glitter cardstock, and bow diecut out of silver glitter cardstock.  Completed base. Decorative panels have stitching and fit perfectly around the box. Pro tip: use bone folder to reinforce score lines once their creased. "B" dies are for the top of the box and decorations. "B" panels cut from blue, white glitter cardstock, and "mirror" cut from silver matte cardstock. Pro tip: I cut the frame around the mirror three times. Twice from regular 80lb cardstock and once from white glitter cardstock. By stackin

Pop-Up Birthday Cards

I have been donating cards to Cards For Kindness for a couple of years. The last time I was on their site, they stated they needed birthday cards. I have about 50 to give, but wanted to add something new. These cards were inspired by a Jennifer Mcguire video. Most products are from Pretty Pink Posh. To start, I set up to stencil the background for the  cards. I used a 6x6 piece of Neenah Classic Crest Cover Solar White 80lb in a Waffleflower Stencil Mat. I used Pretty Pink Posh's Layered Presents Stencils and Altenew colors Valcano Lake, Lagoon, and Emerald. Final panels after stenciling. I cut them down to 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 to fit on the front of a top folding A2 card base. Base made from Neenah Classic Crest Cover Solar White 110lb cardstock.  For the front of the card, I chose Lawn Fawn Peacock, Gina K Turquoise Sea, and Gina K Sea Glass. These closely match the inks used for stenciling. With these colors, I will die cut components for the present

Christmas In White

I chose Gina K's new Winter Wonderland die set to create this serene Christmas slimline scene. I started by lightly ink blending Uncharted Mariner Oxide onto a blank slimline. I used Neenah Classic Crest Cover Solar White 110lb for the card base. Then, I splattered it with watered down white gouache. I wanted the sky to have the only color on the card. Next, I cut a hillside freehand and attached to dried card base. I cut out several buildings, trees, fence, light posts, a snowman, and a moon. I stacked the buildings and light post in varying thickness to give the card more dimension. I attached a piece of cardstock behind the buildings so the windows remained white. I adhered all elements to the background. To make the card balanced, I evenly spaced the first and last elements from the edges. I finished the card off by white heat embossing Santa and his reindeer into the night sky. Santa is from Gina K's Holiday Silhouett

Christmas Ornament

Today I made a beautiful Christmas ornament card for my granddaughter using Birch Press Dies. These intricate layering dies make it look like you spent hours on your creation! These are the needed dies to create this shaped card. To make the detachable ornament card, you need to cut out one shaped card base and two of each of the layering dies. I used matte silver cardstock for the top layer and ornament topper, Neenah Classic Crest Cover Solar White 110lb cardstock for the card base and middle pieces, and white glitter cardstock for the bows and base layer. I used Peacock Feathers and Evergreen Bough Distress Oxides for the middle two layers. I made the sides darker to give the illusion of the ornament being round. Here are the two assembled ornament faces. I added three gems to one side of the ornament. Here is the finished ornament. I made sure that the toppers and the bows line up. I used a foam square

Winter Penguins

So, I haven't published anything in so long. I took what I thought would be a short break....fast forward a year and a half! I'm back to share more creations with you!  Today I made this adorable winter card.  I can't get enough of the penguins in this set! I found a new company, called Pixi Dust Designs, when I was searching online for winter stamps. I immediately had so many ideas, I had to buy it. This is the third card I've made with these cute critters in two days. I started by stamping my images with Memento Tuxedo Black ink because it is Copic friendly. I wanted a Christmas theme, so I stuck with red, green, and white for the penguin's accessories and used toner greys for the animals. Next, I cut three picture frames. Two from white cardstock and one with white glitter cardstock. I glued them together. This makes the frame more sturdy. For the background, I started out with Neenah Classic Crest Cover Solar White
